Implementation Consultant - Finance & Accounting

Implementation Consultant with experience of accounting software or the finance / accounts modules of ERP software, to join a thriving software consultancy who are authors of their own ERP solution. Head Office is in the Midlands, not actually Derby which is just a reference point, but you can live anywhere and work remotely and on client sites, or you might be living in the Midlands and would prefer to be office based and out on site. A wide salary range is on offer from £35 - 55k depending on your level of implementation experience, plus company car, bonus, laptop and mobile.

Their software offering is very strong on manufacturing and most of the clients are specialist manufacturing companies, but it has rock solid finance and distribution modules. It has multiple features and great functionality and is a SQL Server based solution built on the .Net platform. They have a huge existing client base and large recurring revenue from support which allows them to have project management, development, implementation, technical support and application support teams.

The main opportunity they have now is for an ERP Consultant with strong finance / accounting implementation experience. Simply put, you need to understand ledgers and to be able to implement them and provide training to the users, and understand how they integrate with the other modules of an ERP solution such as purchasing, stock control, order processing, inventory, and supply chain etc.

You will have worked on solutions such as ECi M1, NetSuite, IFS, Sage 200, Winman, Epicor, Dynamics NAV, Lakeview, PS Financials, Infor M3, Sage EM / Sage X3, Coda, Dynamics AX, SAP Business One, Kerridge K8, Intact, Efacs, Exchequer or anything similar.

You are comfortable sitting down with an FD and talking about how they want their accounts set up, speaking the appropriate finance jargon, and understanding what they are talking about, in order to tailor the solution to fit and to be credible.

As a consultant you will work through the requirements, workshops, specification for the developers, data upload (there is a technical team, but you will always end up doing some data work), implementation, client training, go-live, SQL queries and reports. A typical project here, is 10 - 100 users and a typical deal is £75,000 to £150,000 with 10-75 days of onsite consultancy. The solution is highly configurable, and most clients start of with an out of the box solution which is then tailored to suit their specific business.

Implementation Consultants can be based anywhere. Their current implementation people live in Birmingham, Bedford, Northamptonshire, Yorkshire, Manchester, Salisbury, Guildford, Reading and Blackpool - so it really doesn't matter where you are. Clients are spread across the UK. Interestingly they buy company cars that are about 6-12 months old, so for the budget you are given, you often get a car worth £30,000+ brand new. Then you just claim back your business mileage at the government rate.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, you enjoy a client facing role talking to stakeholders, you are a well organised problem solver, and you can build strong relationships with your customers that will be long lasting. SQL and / or SQL Server experience and report writing skills would be useful and are desirable.
