Software Implementation Consultant, 1-3 years' experience

Superb role for a bright, ambitious and switched on Implementation Consultant with 1-3 years' experience of working with ERP, Accounting or CRM software solutions or similar systems such as construction, dealer management systems or property management software (particularly if there is an accounting element). Starting salary from £30-40k. This will suit a smart Consultant looking for the next step in their career, working with a .Net product, great clients and exciting projects.

The software here is an ERP type solution sold as a subscription based Cloud product, with a selection of specialist modules including project tools, project costing, budgeting, job costing, email management, workflow management, mobile documents, resource planning, time management, invoicing, expenses, timesheets and CRM and it integrates fully with off the shelf accounting software such as Sage, Pegasus Opera, Access Dimensions and QuickBooks.

They are looking for someone who is great with clients, has good business process and analysis skills, can translate requirements into technical requirements, is confident, personable and communicative and keen to learn new solutions and to learn from Senior Consultants. You need to be credible and have the gravitas to work with a demanding client base (often creative people) and to be confident enough to face challenges.

As the software has many financial aspects such as invoicing, job costing, budgeting and expenses, and integrates with accounting software, it would be helpful (but by no means essential) if you had an understanding of the accounting elements or an accounting qualification such as AAT, CIMA etc. Other useful skills could be SQL, Business Intelligence software, SSRS and / or data interrogation.

You will start off getting to grips with the software modules, getting involved in training and assisting and supporting the Senior Implementation Consultants. Over 18 months you will progress into a full blown Functional Consultant role which will include the complete implementation life cycle from kick off / discovery, business requirements, workshops and process mapping, to configuring the software, data migration, user training, implementation and go-live. You will need to liaise with the technical team regarding data conversion, development, deployment and the tech side. Projects are typically up to 50 days and clients can vary from 4 to 300 users. They currently have 10,000 users and 150 clients.

Many of their clients are based in London with a few in the North of England and Scotland and some in Ireland (they have a Consultant based full time in Ireland). So there will be some travel involved inevitably, but it will be a limited number of overnight stays. Initially a typical week is one day in the office near Chessington, 2 days onsite with clients, then 2 days in the office again. As an experienced Consultant you will be on client site more and not be in the office very often.
